I checked out your drawing. It is very nice and you can recognise who it is. Some pointers I hope may help - The proportions are a little out, her face could be a little larger. I would suggest try I would say try drawing the picture again on a piece of paper or within a piece of paper the same proportions as your reference picture, try judging the sizes of the areas and see if you prefer your second attempt. Practice is always key, you will always see improvement when you keep drawing over and over. Keep up the great work and hope this helps
I checked out your drawing. It certainly looks like merlin.
What might help you is to try and plan where you are going to draw your picture on the paper, work out where the top of the subjects head will be, chin, shoulders etc. even if you just draw very faint lines, just as a guide. This way you won't run out of space when you are drawing.
Unbelievably awesome! A masterpiece, really! At first I thought it was a photomanip or something. But than I saw it in original size and... I'm totally stunned! Wow, all these details, the colours and the shadings. It's perfect in every single way. You're so talented! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you very much, you are very kind. I was working on three similar drawings of Morgana at the same time, I've discarded one I was drawing on black card, but may finish the other drawing when I have time.
Thanks again for the nice comments. I see from your page you are a big fan of the BBC Merlin TV show. I'm originally from Wales where we are brought up on a diet of King Arthur!
You are very much welcome! And AWWW, so you're from Wales? That is so awesome! Did you ever get to manage to see the cast in Cardiff? (And omg... Hope you don't mind my bad old school-english though... >.<) My best friend and me consider to make a trip to Southengland and Wales next year or in 2014. We're already planning the route We want to walk in Arthurs footprints . We're both big fans of Britain . I envy you in a way for living so near to the legend. I loved this legend and the character of Arthur long before Merlin. Merlin was a kind of return to my roots for me. The series is so cute and entertaining, the new season is so sad and touching, and all the actors are so... so ! Arthur and Morgana are my fave characters so far. They ever were. In novels and films. So I'm really curious of the other Morgana-drawings from you too.
Yes there are a lot of connections with the Arthurian legends to Cornwall in Southern England an Wales. In Wales legends have him connected with lots of places, although Snowdonia and parts of has many connections, Dinas (Lake) Emrys is named after Merlin. I think Snowdonia is from where he is meant to have originated. Have fun anyway, but tkae your waterproofs it rains quite a lot.
Thank you for the advice and the hints! Well rain is okay with me - if it's not too cold. I've heard about Dinas Emrys and saw pics of Snowdonia, quite a nice place it seems, very impressive! I think I put it on our list.
